Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Good diagnostic and treatment facilities are available at the surgery and if you are able to get there, we can treat you more effectively.

Home visits are only intended for those who are too unwell or house bound.

If you do not have a car, you should try to arrange a lift from a relative or friend or take a bus or taxi.  Very few, if any, illnesses are made worse by a short journey.  Lack of transport does not justify a home visit request

If you feel you require a home visit please telephone before 10.30am and provide our reception team with your contact details and a brief synopsis of the problem.  A GP will then telephone you to determine if a home visit is indicated and how urgently you need to be seen.

The visiting doctor or nurse practitioner may not always be the one you usually see.
